There’s no denying how strong the call of Paris has been for me over the last few years. After living in London for a year and coming back home to settle down, Europe seemed like so far away until now.
We took a walk in Old Montreal today. Once I started snapping photos, I began to feel the essence of Paris through my lens and my heart began to flutter. I think I’ve fallen for a part of Montreal that I hadn’t visited for a while and am now really beginning to appreciate it for its true character and history.
After our afternoon walk, we ended our journey at Le Cartet, a resto boutique on McGill avenue. We were able to pick up some fresh cheese, a cup of fruit and a lemon San Pellegrino.
I still plan on visiting Paris one day but after really opening my eyes up to our gorgeous home town today, I think it can wait (but not for too long).
Yes, looking at this absolutely takes me to Paris… Beautiful shots!
So beautiful…. As if I didn’t already want to visit Montreal!
Hope you have a great week Michelle…
Thanks Susan and Kristin. Hope to meet you both one day either here in Montreal or la belle ville de Paris!

Great photos…I love Montreal! I wish I could find a little bit of Paris in Toronto!
You will get to Paris soon!
oh wow, gorgeous pictures, Michelle! I love the details you’ve focused on, so beautiful. It’s been about 9 years since I last visited Montreal, and looking at these pics makes me want to jet out again! As for Paris, it’s definitely on my list, but probably a bit further off…
Lesley, we would have a blast if you ever decided to come back! I’d say that after 9 years, you’re overdue for a visit.
Beautiful snaps, Michelle - I love those Edison bulbs.
Gorgeous photos of our lovely city, Michelle
It’s been so long since I’ve been to Montreal, and now your photos have given me the travel bug
I Definitely see the connection between Montreal and Paris in your pics - the magic is all in the details.
Ha ha this is so funny, I was just biking around Old Montreal this morning and really felt like I was in Paris. I never get this feeling walking around there but biking in a dress for some reason made me feel like I was overseas. Beautiful photos. I hope you are having a wonderful summer and getting out to have some mini adventures.
Much Love,
Crystal
Gorgeous! Lucky you to live in a city with so much historic character. Thanks for taking us on a stroll through Old Montreal. This inspired me to see my own city in a new light!
